Fall 2020

Fall is the most exciting and creative time in the winery business. Barreled wines need to be tasted and adjusted and, in some cases, prepared for bottling. A new harvest is available for consideration and inventories of already produced wines, costs, and environmental conditions need to be considered. For all the reasons listed, Givich Vineyards will not complete a new crush for the 2020 vintage. If you have been watching the news you know that disastrous wild-fires have consumed most of the wine-bearing lands this year. Luckily, our custom-crush facility was spared from the direct fires but still suffers from smoke contamination. In these difficult times it’s best to settle-in and fine tune the wines currently in barrels rather than attempt to create new wines. It is my hope that 2021 will find a vaccine and improved environmental conditions.
